Liverpool are close to signing Ki-Jana Hoever from Ajax.
That’s according to a report by James Pearce for the Echo, with the youngster looking like he will soon make the move to Merseyside after attracting attention from visiting scouts.
He is a defender of versatility, with the ability to play right-back as well as centre-back and has been with the Amsterdam club since 2014, when he joined them from AZ Alkmaar.
Hoever is a Holland under-16 international and he also made thirteen appearance for Ajax’s under-17 side last season – scoring two goals along the way.
He will join recent signings Bobby Duncan and Isaac Christie-Davies in the youth ranks should he complete the move this Summer, after the duo joined from rivals Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
Hoever was reported to also be of interest to Premier League rivals Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, so his signing would represent something of a coup for the club.
The youngster has not made any first-team appearances for the Eredivisie club as yet.
