Reds consider Cillessen move

Liverpool have made Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen a target.

That is the claim being made by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who are reporting that the Dutch international could be on the move this Summer.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are also said to be monitoring the twenty-nine year old’s situation with question marks over the future of Belgian Thibaut Courtois.

Cillessen, who has been capped forty times by Holland, made just eleven appearances for the La Liga champions last season – keeping eight clean sheets in the process.

He has made just twenty-one appearances in total since joining from Eredivisie giants Ajax back in 2016 and is said to be considering his options in the search of regular starts.

His contract runs until 2021 and the report claims that the Catalans value him at a little over £8m, which could make him a cheap option in an expensive transfer market.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be on the look out for a new goalkeeper as he prepares to move on Belgian international Simon Mignolet.

Doubts remain over the Anfield career of Welsh international Danny Ward as well.
