Liverpool assistant manager Željko Buvač is being linked with the manager’s position at Fenerbahce.
He was placed on gardening leave back in April and is yet to return to duties at Anfield, with many believing that his days are numbered at the club.
Rumours were flying around the media claiming that he was being lined up for various management positions and had fallen out with manager Jurgen Klopp over his future plans.
He was linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Arsenal to succeed Arsene Wenger, but those claims turned out to be wide of the mark.
But now, according to Turkish outlet Sabah, Buvač is a “leading contender to become Fenerbahce’s new manager.”
Former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes is also being linked with the vacancy – but that is not said to be going down well with their supporters.
But they are also said to be concerned that Buvač has no previous managerial experience in his coaching career.
