Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri was coy when asked about a potential switch to Liverpool.
The Switzerland international, who is preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Russia with his national side, was asked about the speculation linking him with a move to Anfield.
And the former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan man laughed before responding to the reporter pushing him for some information on whether the Reds were going to trigger his release clause following Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League.
“The Anfield stadium is great certainly.” he responded.
“Why are you talking about Liverpool?
“I can’t tell you anything right now.
“I think my agents take care of my future.
“I’m focusing on the national team right now.” he finished.
Liverpool are being heavily linked with a bid worth around £12m to add Shaqiri as a handy squad option ahead of an attempt to challenge Manchester City for the title next season.
