Liverpool have been made favourites to sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski this Summer.
The England international, who missed out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup, has been linked with a switch to Anfield since the end of last season.
And it looks like Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could well make a move to bolster his defensive options by signing the twenty-five year old this Summer as he looks to add depth to his ranks.
“Tarkowski didn’t make the England squad in the end but did have a superb season, winning his first cap and proving instrumental at the back as Burnley qualified for Europe.” Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead told Starsport.
“It’s no surprise to see him being linked with a move and it looks as though Liverpool is the likely destination.” he added.
Liverpool are 5/2 favourites to secure a deal to bring the centre-back to Anfield, with London trio Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham all next best priced at 8/1.
Tarkowski is believed to be one of two English central defenders of interest to Klopp, with Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles believed to be the other option on the list.
Burnley would not be keen on losing one of their best players, especially after manager Sean Dyche steered them into a Europa League qualification berth last season.
