Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has said he was determined to return to England to show people what he was capable.
After a disappointing spell in the Premier League with Chelsea, the Egypt international got his career back on track with some fine form in Serie A for Fiorentina and Roma.
He returned to England by joining the Reds last Summer and the rest has been history as he has gone on to be a revelation under Jurgen Klopp with records being broken along the way.
And he is delighted to have come back to the country to showcase his very best form.
“It was always on my mind to perform the best I can.” he told easports.com.
“I had two great seasons in Rome but it was always on my mind to come back to the Premier League to show the people who said I didn’t succeed here the first time and prove that I can be a success in the Premier League.” he continued.
The German’s influence has been a big factor in his excellent form this season and Salah has credited his ‘friend’ Klopp.
“You know, before everything we are friends. I like him a lot.” he added.
“He has helped me a lot to do what I’m doing on the field and off it.
“I have to thank him for everything he has done this year.
“I really respect him a lot and I’m sure we are going to do something special for the club this year to end it.” he finished.
Salah will be desperate to cap off his stellar season by winning the Champions League trophy next week against Real Madrid in Kiev.
