Liverpool are set to complete a deal to bring Chelsea midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies in on a free transfer after he was released this week.
That’s according to a report by ESPN FC, in which they claim that sources close to the club have confirmed that the youngster will sign a contract to make the switch to Anfield.
The twenty year old has been released by the London club after they decided not to extend the contract he had with them, which expires this Summer.
He had a brief trial in March with Liverpool and it seems that the club have decided to offer the youngster a deal so he can show what he is capable of over a longer period.
Christie-Davies moved to the Chelsea academy from Brighton & Hove Albion and won the FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016 as well as the UEFA Youth League in 2016.
He is likely to initially become a part of the under-23 squad at Anfield and will hope that he can follow in the footsteps of former Chelsea forward Dominic Solanke by breaking into the first-team squad.
Liverpool have benefited from several Chelsea “rejects” down the years, with Daniel Sturridge, Mohamed Salah and Boudewijn Zenden having successful spells at Anfield after leaving Stamford Bridge in recent times.
