Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has been left out of the Germany squad for the World Cup.
Mannschaft manager Joachim Low has decided against including the twenty-four year old amid fears that the back injury he is recovering from could hamper in during the tournament.
Can has been fighting to regain fitness in time for the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday 26th May and it looks like he could be losing that race.
And that would mean that he could well have played his final game for the club after picking up the injury back in March, which ruled him out of the quarter final win over Manchester City and the semi-final success against AS Roma.
Juventus, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are all believed to be eager to agree a deal to sign Can once his contract at Anfield expires at the end of June.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is still keen to keep his compatriot at the club, but it is being reported that Can is asking for a substantial pay-rise as well as a release clause to be inserted into any new contract.
It is looking increasingly likely that he will move on from the club at the end of his deal and he will also be missing from Russia when his country look to win the World Cup again.
