Liverpool are being linked with a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
The Mirror are reporting that the twenty-eight year old has emerged as a target following some fine performances for the south coast club as they saved their top flight status.
McCarthy made several key saves as the Saints managed to claw their way out of the relegation zone to avoid relegation down to The Championship – a fate which instead was suffered by Swansea City.
Liverpool are not the only club considering making an offer for the keeper, however, with Arsenal and Premier League new boys Wolves also reported to be keen on his services.
McCarthy has just a year left on his contract at St Mary’s and that could aid any move as Southampton could decide to cash in while they can rather than risk losing him for nothing in 2019.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with moves for several goalkeepers as he looks to make changes to his options between the posts next season, with both Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward likely to move on in search of first-team football.
Hungarian international Adam Bogdan is also still at the club and could finally leave this Summer.
