Real Madrid honourary president and former player Paco Gento has backed his club to have it easy against Liverpool in the Champions League final.
The two clubs come face to face in Kiev on Saturday 26th May and Gento has told AS that he expects the La Liga giants to stroll to a third successive trophy.
“That goes without saying. It will be a piece of cake.” he said.
“Everyone gets excited by these kind of games.
“Everyone wants to be there to support the team and cheer them on to win another European Cup and continue this great run we’re in and which we have always enjoyed.
“Madrid cannot let this chance slip. Finals are to be won, not played and Real Madrid know what is at stake.” he finished.
Gento is the only player in the history of the competition to be on the winning side in six European Cup finals, so he has plenty of experience of winning it as a player.
Liverpool supporters will hope that the Real Madrid squad are as overconfident as he is, however.
