Liverpool reportedly open Fernandes negotiations

Liverpool have opened negotiations with Sporting Lisbon over a deal for Bruno Fernandes.

That’s according to an article by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who claim that discussions have begun over a move to Anfield this Summer for the midfielder.

They claim that the Portuguese international has been identified by Jurgen Klopp as the ideal man to partner Naby Keita, who will arrive from RB Leipzig this Summer, in the midfield next season.

Fernandes has a €100million release clause in the contract he signed when he joined Sporting from Italian club Sampdoria last year.

He has found the net eleven times in his debut season at the Estádio José Alvalade after spending the first five years of his career in Italian football with Novara, Udinese and Sampdoria.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are all said to be considering making Summer moves for the midfielder and that interest is said to be pushing Liverpool into making this early move.

It remains to be seen whether there is genuine interest from Anfield in the twenty-three year old, as several other midfielders have been linked with moves.
