Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Ruben Neves from Wolves.
The Portugal international looks set to leave Molineux in order to complete a switch to Anfield at the end of the campaign following a fine debut season in English football.
He arrived at the Championship winners from FC Porto last Summer in a deal which surprised a lot of people in football, but it proved to be a good move for him as he helped them to promotion.
But it now looks like it will be a brief stay in the Midlands for Neves as he looks set to be one of Jurgen Klopp’s first signings of what promises to be a busy Summer at Anfield.
Napoli midfielder Jorginho was another target for the midfield position now earmarked for Neves, but he is being priced out of a switch by the Serie A club.
Further complications to that deal are bids from Manchester City and Manchester United, who are also keen on bringing the Brazil born Italy international to the Premier League.
The impressive form shown by Neves and his lower transfer fee have been positives in his favour as Klopp looks to rejuvenate his midfield options ahead of next season.
Guinea international Naby Keita will also arrive at Anfield this Summer.
