Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp felt his side came “through the whirlwind” to beat Manchester City.
The German saw his team beat the Premier League leaders 2-1 at The Etihad on Tuesday evening to seal progression to the semi-final stage of the Champions League thanks to a 5-1 aggregate win.
City took the lead inside two minutes thanks to a strike from Gabriel Jesus, but could not find a second goal to put more pressure on Liverpool and Klopp is proud of his players’ efforts.
“We scored five against Man City and only conceded one. These numbers are usually not possible.” he said.
“The boys found a solution in the second half.
“We had two or three opportunities in the first half already, so it was easy for me and the boys to see the development of the game.
“We had come through the whirlwind.” he continued.
Klopp will find out who his side will play in the final four stage when the draw takes place on Friday morning.
