Lemar hoping to make Monaco exit

AS Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar has admitted that he was “disappointed” not to leave the French club in the past two transfer windows.

The France international was a target for Liverpool, as well as Arsenal, last Summer and saw bids from the two Premier League clubs turned down.

Liverpool were rumoured to be interested in a deal to sign him in January after Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona, but a bid failed to materialise.

But that hasn’t stopped Lemar from revealing that he still has hopes that he will be able to leave the Ligue 1 champions at the end of the campaign.

“I’m not going to hide it, I was a little disappointed,” he told Telefoot.

“I try not to think about it.

“I’ve kept working so that these clubs come back during the next transfer window.” he finished.

Whether Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is still interested in Lemar remains to be seen, however.
