Liverpool are favourites to sign Jorginho from Napoli this Summer.
That’s according to a report by David Maddock in The Mirror, in which he claims that Jurgen Klopp leads the race to bring the Italy international to the Premier League at the end of the season.
He writes that both Manchester United and Arsenal are closely monitoring the midfielder with possible intentions of making rival offers to bring him to England at the end of the season.
But the naturalised Brazilian is said to be impressed with the Anfield careers of Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Leiva and Roberto Firmino and would favour becoming a part of Klopp’s squad.
The only issue, Maddock states, would be interest from either Barcelona or Real Madrid – but the two La Liga giants are not reported to be interested in the £50m rated midfielder and are concentrating their attention elsewhere.
But Klopp is not limiting himself to just Jorginho as his only option when it comes to the likely task of finding a replacement for Germany international Emre Can – who looks set to make an exit this Summer when his contract expires.
Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City have also been identified as possible signings ahead of what promises to be a big Summer at Anfield.
