Liverpool face the prospect of missing out on AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
That’s because Spanish champions Real Madrid have made signing the Brazil international a priority this Summer and are prepared to smash the record fee paid for a goalkeeper, according to Steve Bates article in The Mirror.
The twenty-five year old has spoken of his pleasure at seeing speculation linking him with a switch to the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign.
“Real Madrid’s interest in me makes me happy, I won’t deny that.” he is quoted in the article.
“I’m very happy when a club speaks well of me, it means I’m doing well and that they’re following me.
“Imagine when a club like Real Madrid does that, but for now I’m focused on Roma.” he finished.
It would also add an extra piece of bad news for the club if the La Liga giants do beat Jurgen Klopp to his signature, as it would end their pursuit of David de Gea from Manchester United.
Klopp also faces the prospect of seeing “back-up choice” Bernd Leno move elsewhere, with Napoli keen to take the Bayer Leverkusen stopper to Serie A in a deal worth around £23m.
Whether or not Leno is actually being monitored by the club is open to debate, but Alisson clearly is a target.
