Liverpool are keen to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this Summer.
That is according to a report by Spanish newspaper Sport, who are claiming that the Wales international has made his way on to Jurgen Klopp’s wanted list.
The article claims that Los Blancos are looking to recoup close to £90m for the Welshman as they look to seal a deal to take Brazil international Neymar back to La Liga at the end of the season.
Bale left Tottenham Hotspur to join the Champions League holders back in the Summer of 2013 and has scored eleven goals so far during this injury interrupted season.
It seems unlikely that Klopp or FSG would be willing to spend so much money on a player who will command a large financial package – and he will turn thirty next year.
There’s no doubt that he would be a signing to excite the supporters, but Klopp already has Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for the wide attacking positions and is unlikely to want to spend big on competition for the two Africans.
A move to either Manchester United or Chelsea would be more likely should Bale decide to call time on his spell in Spain and return to English football at the end of the campaign.
