Bayern set to move for Can

Bayern Munich are “pressing” the agent of Emre Can as they look to win the race for the Liverpool man.

The Germany international isn’t short of offers as he considers his next move with just a matter of a few months remaining on his contract at Anfield.

Italian champions Juventus have been frontrunners in the race to lure him away from Liverpool over the past year or so, but the option to return to Bayern might prove too difficult to turn down.

Tuttosport are reporting that the Bundesliga champions are hoping to add him to the signing of his compatriot Leon Goretzka this Summer, after they won the race to sign the Germany international.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had been attempting to convince Goretzka that he would be best served joining him at Anfield, but he failed in his efforts and the twenty-three year old will be heading to the Allianz Arena in the Summer.

Bayern are looking to tie up a deal to partner him with Can, if these reports are accurate and the Bavarian giants are genuinely trying to re-sign the player they let go of back in 2013.

Can left them to seek out regular first-team football with Bayer Leverkusen – but a clause was inserted into the deal which stated that Bayern could opt to take him back at a later date.

They decided not to activate that clause and allowed him to move to Liverpool in the Summer of 2014 – a decision they may well regret after seeing his progress at Anfield.

But they could be looking to rectify that by snapping him up on a free transfer this year.
