Liverpool are interested in a deal to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid.
That’s according to a report by Diario Gol in which they claim that the Croatia international is looking to return to the Premier League at the end of the current campaign.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on the idea of securing a deal to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur man in the Summer.
The thirty-two year old is said to be hopeful of heading back to London, however, which would give Arsenal an advantage in the race to land the midfielder.
Klopp has already secured a deal to bring highly-rated Guinea international midfielder Naby Keita to Anfield from German club RB Leipzig at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether he is genuinely interested in Modric, as he does not fit the profile of signing for the club in terms of age, resale value and salary.
So Liverpool supporters probably shouldn’t be getting their hopes up that a move to bring Modric back to England will be forthcoming from the club.
