Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is looking forward to taking on rivals Manchester United.
The Holland international will be making his first appearance for the club against the Old Trafford club and says he “can’t wait for it to start” ahead of the match which could go a long way to deciding who finishes second behind Manchester City this season.
“I’ve not been here for long, but I feel like we can beat anyone.” he told Liverpoolfc.com
“It’s going to be a very tough game going there, and they have so much quality – but we do as well.
“It’s going to be a very interesting game.
“‘I’m looking forward to it a lot. I’ve been hearing so many stories about the game, about how big this game is.
“If you look at the table at the moment, it’s a massive game for both of us, the fans and all the people around the world who’ll watch the game.
“I’m definitely looking forward to it and I can’t wait for it to start.
“We want to win the game – just like the fans, we want to do everything that’s possible to win it.
“I know that definitely how important it is for our fans.
“I’ve played in the Old Firm derby and that was very special – now I’m definitely looking forward to this game and seeing how the atmosphere is.” he finished.
Liverpool supporters will be looking forward to seeing the Dutchman make his first appearance for the club at Old Trafford.
