Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has said that he would like to see the club drawn against a Premier League rival in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Jurgen Klopp’s side reached the last eight after a 5-0 aggregate win against Portuguese champions FC Porto was completed with the stalemate at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
And Brazil international Firmino is eager to face a domestic rival when the draw is made next Friday for the quarter finals.
“Yes, we’d like a draw against an English club.” he said.
“We have shown in the past few seasons we can beat all the English clubs.
“Our record is good against them.
“We feel we have played well against the top English clubs and shown we can beat them.
“But we are not afraid of anyone in the draw.” he finished.
Liverpool will not be able to draw Tottenham Hotspur, as the London club were knocked out of the competition by Juventus on Wednesday evening.
Manchester City have qualified for the next phase following a 5-2 aggregate success against Swiss club Basel.
Chelsea and Manchester United will both need to overcome Spanish competition next week if they are to be in the pot.
