Liverpool are in a four way fight to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
That’s according to a report by The Mirror, in which they claim that the Reds are in a race alongside rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to sign the Frenchman.
Doucoure has been in impressive form for the Premier League club so far this season and has been watched by visiting scouts on several occasions, according to reports.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is the latest to have dispatched a party to check out the twenty-five year old when he had him watched in Watford’s 1-0 win over West Brom at the weekend.
Doucoure has just over two years remaining on his contract at Vicarage Road and is aware of the speculation linking him with some of the biggest clubs in the country.
“We’ll see what the state of play is in the summer and then we can ask questions.” he recently said of the transfer talk.
Any move by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may rest on whether Germany international Emre Can decides to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Klopp is likely to want to replace the power and physicality of the former Bayer Leverkusen man if he does decide his future lies elsewhere.
