Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.
That’s the claim being made by Diario Gol – who are reporting that the German has asked the owners of the club to press ahead with a deal to bring the Spaniard to Anfield.
They are reporting that Klopp has asked FSG to seal a one season loan transfer with an option to make the signing permanent, which does not sound like the kind of deal the former Borussia Dortmund manager would want to do.
Klopp is not a big fan of signing players on loan and would rather have them fully committed to the club, which suggests that these claims are wide of the mark.
Ceballos, who only joined Real Madrid last year, has been regularly linked with a move to Merseyside in the past few months and the regularity of reports on the subject are growing in number.
The twenty-one year old left Real Betis to become a part of Zinedine Zidane’s squad at the Bernabeu last Summer, but he has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Frenchman’s side.
That has seen much media speculation that he will ask the La Liga champions to let him leave at the end of the campaign – which would suggest that a year on loan elsewhere would make sense for the attacking midfielder.
But whether it would make sense for Klopp and Liverpool remains to be seen.
