Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the work being done by under-19 boss Steven Gerrard.
The former Anfield skipper returned to the club in September to take up the role of coaching the youth side and things have been going well for the thirty-seven year old so far.
And that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Klopp, who has credited Gerrard for the work he has done as well as his attitude and desire.
“My compliments to Stevie.” he said.
“He’s doing a good job. I’m happy. But it was never in doubt.
“I like his desire and how he is doing the job.
“Steven and Critch have nice teams together, but it’s more difficult for Critch now as we gave half his team away on loan.
“They are now out there trying to make a next step. We are now on the next next generation here.
“We know the boys and giving them an opportunity is always nice.” he finished.
Gerrard’s under-19 side beat rivals Manchester United 2-0 in the UEFA Youth League this week and will face a trip to play Manchester City in the next round of the competition.
