Mido backs Salah to head to Spain

Former Egypt international Mido has backed his compatriot Mohamed Salah to leave Anfield.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was speaking after the Liverpool forward overtook his record as the top scoring Egyptian in the Premier League thanks to his double against Spurs on Sunday.

And that has seen Mido suggest that Salah will find it impossible to reject an offer to move to La Liga to play for either Real Madrid or Barcelona down the line.

“If Salah continued performing well until the end of the season it will be hard for Liverpool to make him stay.” he said.

“Liverpool is a great club but if they received an offer from one the best clubs in the world they won’t hesitate to sell Salah.

“No player can turn down Real Madrid or Barcelona, yet, there are a few exceptions like Francesco Totti who wanted to stay with Roma until the end of his career.

“I was the first to predict Salah moving to Real Madrid since Gareth Bale has not been performing very well lately.

“If he continues to play like this until the end of the season Madrid will send him an official offer.” he finished.

Liverpool supporters will be tired of hearing Salah touted as a potential signing for the two Spanish giants.
