Liverpool and United set for Pulisic scrap

Liverpool and Manchester United are set to go head to head in a battle to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.

That’s according to a report by Sport Bild, in which it is claimed that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is still keen to bring the American international Anfield.

But he will face stiff competition from United manager Jose Mourinho, who has a seeming advantage thanks to the teenager growing up as a fan of the Old Trafford club.

Pulisic has been the subject of bids from Anfield previously, when Klopp tried to persuade his former club to allow the young winger to follow him to Anfield shortly after becoming Liverpool manager.

United’s interest is more recent, but that will not mean that their attempt to secure a deal to bring the player heralded as the future of American soccer to the Premier League.

Pulisic, meanwhile, is taking everything in his stride.

“It would be a dream, but I still have a long way to go before I’m even close.” he said when asked if he could become a world star.

“There are so many good players. Of course, Neymar is just making his way.

“We played against Mbappe, also with Ousmane Dembele he was still with us, you could see what talent these guys have.

“It’s incredible. They are players I can still learn from.

“Playing against them or with them can only make me better. It’s something special to watch such guys.” he finished.

Liverpool will be hoping that he will continue his development on Merseyside, with FSG certain be behind the idea of bringing the American poster boy to the club.
