Liverpool and United enter Sanchez race

Liverpool and Manchester United have entered the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

That’s according to Chilean journalist Maks Cárdenas, who took to Twitter today to reveal that both the clubs have been in touch regarding his future.

Manchester City have been pursuing a deal to sign the former Barcelona man since they came close to landing him for £60m on deadline day earlier this season.

And it appears that the twenty-nine year old remains keen on making the move to The Etihad, according to the tweet, but that hasn’t stopped the two north-west clubs from checking out whether his mind could be changed.

It has been widely reported that Sanchez has agreed to join City on a free transfer at the end of the season once his contract at The Emirates expires.

But he could bring that forward the transfer if City and Arsenal can agree a fee this month – and there is nothing stopping Liverpool and United from lodging bids to land Sanchez during the winter window.

He would not have to agree to a move if the Gunners accepted an offer, but it would at least give him something to think about while he waits to play for Pep Guardiola again.

  1. Yep. This is another one of those watch and do noth8ng and then it’s too late situations. Seen them all this last 12months and we will suffer as a result of Kloppie/FSG sitting on their laurels. Pull your fingers out and get real for your LFC supporters and the name of LFC!
