Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is plotting to sign a new goalkeeper this year.
The Reds boss has put together a three man shortlist, according to a report by The Mirror, as he looks to bring in a new number one goalkeeper to shore up his defence.
Klopp already has three goalkeepers vying for the number one spot in his team, but it appears that he has finally lost patience with long-time first-choice Simon Mignolet and compatriot Loris Karius.
Wales international Danny Ward, who was on the bench for the win over Everton on Friday, is also keen to show Klopp what he can do, but now looks likely to have to do that elsewhere.
The three goalkeepers Klopp and his scouting team have identified as possible signings are Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak, AS Roma’s Brazil international Allison and Stoke City stopper Jack Butland.
Oblak will be the name which inspires the most excitement among Liverpool supporters, while Allison will be one to intrigue given his lower reputation and Butland will be one to encourage those who like to see homegrown players given a chance at big English clubs.
Klopp is likely to utilise cash from the potential sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona to splash out on a new keeper.
