Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is still keen to sign Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco.
The France international was the subject of interest from Anfield last Summer, but a deal failed to materialise and he has remained with the Ligue 1 club this season.
But Klopp is still eager to bring the twenty-two year old to the club as he considers his options for Philippe Coutinho’s potential sale to Barcelona at the end of the season.
But the German boss will face serious competition if he does decide to go ahead with a bid to bring Lemar to the Premier League, with strong interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the player.
Klopp is believed to be keen to get a deal in place to bring Lemar to Merseyside at the end of the campaign, but that is unlikely to happen with Monaco looking to exploit the interest in their star.
The French champions are believed to be keen on a bidding war happening between the trio of English clubs in order to get the best price they can as they prepare to lose another key player.
Lemar watched as team-mates Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko left Monaco last Summer and was eager to follow them out of the door.
But the French club would not consider accepting any offers for him after decided to stop taking apart their title winning side of 2016/17 – which made a big impression in the Champions League too.
But Klopp remains intent on bringing Lemar to Anfield is likely to press ahead with an offer.
