Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Emre Can’s contract situation as speculation intensifies around the midfielder’s future at Anfield.
The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and will be able to discuss terms with foreign clubs in January.
And it appears that the stand-off is showing no sign of ending as the former Borussia Dortmund manager gave a fairly frosty assessment of the situation as that stage approaches.
“I said that he can sign but the only difference from January is that he can also sign for another club, that’s all.” he told the Echo.
“For us there is no difference. As long as we don’t get the information that he’s signed for another club, there’s nothing to say about it.
“And I speak a lot to Emre, like other players too, but it’s pretty rare that I speak to him about the contract situation because I’ve gave already all the information that we can give.
“That’s it.” he finished.
Juventus are being heavily linked with a move to sign the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder and many reports have claimed that they are confident of landing him.
