Liverpool are set to make a move to sign Nice midfielder Jean Seri.
That’s according to a report by The Daily Mail, in which the newspaper claims that Manchester City are also keen to bring him to England.
The Ivory Coast international has been gathering plenty of admirers thanks to some impressive performances for the Ligue 1 club over the past couple of years.
Barcelona reportedly made an offer worth around £35m to take him to the Camp Nou back in the Summer, but Nice are said to have turned that down.
Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere is said to be against the prospect of letting his star man go, but reports continue to claim that he could be on his way to the Premier League in 2018.
Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal have also been touted as potential suitors for Seri, so Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would face plenty of stiff competition if he decides to launch a move to sign the midfielder.
Seri’s fellow African Naby Keita will arrive at Anfield from German club RB Leipzig next Summer and the prospect of them linking up in Klopp’s midfield will no doubt excite plenty of supporters.
He is said to hold a preference for a switch to England, so that could well work in Klopp’s favour if he does go ahead with a transfer bid.
