Manchester City and Chelsea have entered the race to sign Schalke’s Leon Goretzka.
That’s according to an article by The Mirror, in which it is claimed that the big-spending Premier League duo have identified the German as a possible signing.
Schalke are reported to be considering selling the Germany international in January rather than risk losing him for free next Summer.
The twenty-two year old is out of contract at the end of the campaign and it looks increasingly unlikely that he will opt to stay with the Bundesliga club.
Bavarian giants Bayern Munich are keen to keep him in his homeland and are likely to offer him a contract next year.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Italian champions Juventus are both being regularly linked with bids to take him away from his country.
But reports last week claimed that Liverpool had struck a deal to bring him to Anfield in January and fans are hoping that the report is accurate.
