Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho prefers the idea of joining Barcelona to signing for Paris Saint Germain – and has asked the club not to accept any offers from the French club.
That’s the claim being made by Spanish outlet Sport – who have been reporting a lot
about the Brazilian’s future.
Barcelona had a series of offers rejected for the twenty-five year old in the Summer, but they have not given up hope of completing a move.
Coutinho is said to have his heart set on getting the transfer completed in 2018 after seeing a transfer request turned down in August.
Barcelona could make a fourth bid in January, but it is likely that they will have to wait until the Summer to get their man.
Liverpool are likely to need the former Inter Milan playmaker with Champions League knockout football on the horizon and the race for a top four spot hotting up.
There is also no obvious replacement for Coutinho, so manager Jurgen Klopp will inform him that he will not be able to leave halfway through the season.
