Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has decided to join Manchester City at the end of the season.
That’s the claim being made by the Daily Star, with the report claiming that the German international will reject other offers to complete the transfer.
Can has only a matter of months left on his contract at Anfield and has reportedly been asking for a substantial payrise and release clause in any extension terms.
Liverpool are not said to be keen to give Can a release clause as it could set a dangerous precedent at the club.
Manager Jurgen Klopp remains hopeful of persuading Can that he is best served to remain at the club beyond the end of the current campaign.
Italian club Juventus have been chasing the former Bayer Leverkusen man for some time and were confident of getting their man next year.
The Serie A club have been considering making a low offer in January to try and tempt the Reds into cashing in then rather than lose him on a free when the season is over.
But it now looks like Can could be set to jump ship to the Etihad to become a part of Pep Guardiola’s impressive outfit.
