Atletico Madrid are plotting to make a move for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
This is according to a report by El Gol Digital, in which it is claimed that the La Liga outfit are looking to lodge a £50m offer for the Egypt international when the transfer window opens.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone is said to be keen to add more prowess to his forward line after being disappointed with his side’s goal return so far this season.
The former Argentina international midfielder will be welcoming ex-Chelsea striker Diego Costa into his squad in January once he becomes eligible to play for the Spanish club.
Atletico will also be able to call on former Sevilla man Vitolo in January, once his loan spell with Las Palmas is completed, after signing him before being able to register him due to their transfer ban.
But that won’t stop Simeone looking to secure a deal for Salah, according to the report, after he identified the former Chelsea winger as a player he would like to take to Spain.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is likely to reject the bid immediately and politely inform Atletico that they have little chance of securing a transfer.
Salah only arrived at Anfield back in the Summer and there is no way the club will entertain the idea of letting him go after the start he has made.
