Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made a personal call to Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas to persuade him to move to Anfield.
That’s the claim being made in a report by Diario Gol, who are stating that the German got in touch with the Costa Rica international in order to convince him that Merseyside should be his next stop.
Navas is claimed to be unhappy with president Florentino Perez attitude towards him when compared with some of the other playing staff at the Spanish giants.
The thirty year old stopper is said to be considering his options with a potential Summer exit from the Bernabeu a likely outcome once the current season has ended.
Klopp has not been convinced that any of his three goalkeepers are the long-term solution to his number one position and the report claims that he made contact with Navas to tell him he would be welcome at the club.
Navas may well be of interest to Klopp, given his quality and stature in the game, but it seems unlikely that he would be making such calls without permission.
Many Liverpool supporters will be hoping that there is substance to the rumours linking Navas with Anfield given the performances of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
