Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has backed his “boys” as “good enough” to be top of the Premier League table.
The German pondered over whether he thought it was possible that his side were up to the task of being the best in the country and he said he was “100%” sure that they were.
“Do I still think it’s possible?” he pondered.
“Yes, 100%.” he answered.
“But I know too it takes time. That’s it.
“The boys are good enough.” he finished.
Many Liverpool supporters will disagree with that assessment following the performances of some of the squad so far this season, but it will come as a boost to the maligned members of the squad that their manager has faith in them.
Fans weren’t generally happy with the Summer business done at the club and have been quick to point out the failings of players who were expected to either leave or be relegated to the bench this season.
Klopp has been equally quick to come to the defence of those who have been receiving the most fierce criticism.
