RB Leipzig president Oliver Mintzlaff has given Liverpool a boost in the race to sign Timo Werner.
The striker has been regularly linked with a move to Anfield following some impressive performances for the German club.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have also been touted as potential suitors for the twenty-one year old, but Mintzlaff has dismissed the talk.
“We had a pleasant lunch and dinner with FC Bayern, with Mr Rummenigge and Mr Hoeness.” he told Sport 1.
“We talked about everything.
“But we did not talk about Timo Werner. Therefore there is no enquiry or offer.” he finished.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on bringing Werner to Anfield as he seeks a prolific striker to add to his ranks.
