Liverpool will fight rivals Manchester City and Chelsea to sign Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam next year.
The Algerian international is out of contract at the end of the campaign and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave the Italian club.
Website Calciomercato are reporting that City boss Pep Guardiola could make an offer as low as £3m in January to try and bring the full-back to the Premier League.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is also said to be keen on landing Ghoulam as he looks to add more competition to his ranks for the second half of the campaign.
And Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could also enter the bidding given the apparent low offer set to be made by Guardiola for the sought-after defender.
The Spaniard is keen to add cover to his squad for the latter stages of the campaign after seeing Summer signing Benjamin Mendy ruled out until around Easter through injury.
Klopp has Alberto Moreno and Andrew Robertson available for the left-back spot, but a cheap deal for Ghoulam could see him tempted into making a move.
