Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to renew his interest in Holland international Quincy Promes.
The Spartak Moscow has come back into the German’s thinking, according to a report by TMW.
Promes was heavily linked with a switch to Anfield back in January this year as Klopp assessed what was available in the Winter transfer window.
The former Borussia Dortmund ultimately decided against making any signings during that month and ended up bringing AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah to Anfield in the Summer.
But links to Promes have resurfaced again recently and Klopp could finally make a move to bring the twenty-five year old to club.
Klopp was questioned over his interest in the Dutchman ahead of last month’s trip to Russia to face his club in the Champions League, a game Promes missed through injury, and he admitted he rated him.
“He’s a good player, a very good player but there’s nothing else to say. There are a lot of good players that we have already.” he said.
“We already have a Dutch player (Gini Wijnaldum) who knows him really well so obviously they are good friends but this is not the place to talk about this.
“He’s a good player but a Spartak player. He’s a very good player.
“He has speed, he’s good on one v one situations and all that stuff, so of course that’s a weakness.” he finished.
Liverpool supporters would no doubt welcome more attacking talent at Anfield, but a defender would be the priority for most fans.
