Klopp eyes deal for Insigne

Insigne has become a key player for Napoli

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne his top target to replace Philippe Coutinho.

That’s according to reports in the Sunday newspapers which claim that the Italian has been identified as the man to cover the loss of the Brazil star if he makes the move to join Barcelona.

It is claimed that it would take £60m to secure the twenty-six year old’s signature as the Serie A club are not keen on letting one of their key players leave.

Napoli secured Champions League football for this season and do not want the upheaval of seeing Insigne move on with a need to then sign a replacement.

Klopp is said to view the deal as ambitious and accepts that it would be quite the coup to lure the Italy international away from his boyhood club.

But he will have plenty of funds available to do so if Barcelona come back with an improved offer for Coutinho – who handed in his transfer request on Friday.

There are conflicting reports emerging over Klopp’s position on the Brazilian, but there are plenty of links being made to potential replacements.
