Liverpool have agreed to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
That’s according to claims being made by ESPN, who are reporting that the Spanish club have managed to talk the Reds into a deal worth an initial £81.6m.
They claim that the fee could rise to £108.8m if all conditions are met via future bonuses.
Barcelona chief executive Oscar Grau is reported to have departed from Spain last night in order to travel to England to conclude a deal for the Brazil international today.
ESPN are also claiming that the former Inter Milan midfielder informed manager Jurgen Klopp that he wanted to depart Anfield this Summer in order to complete a switch to the Camp Nou.
Speculation has increased over the past year or so that Barcelona would make a move for Coutinho and their sale of Neymar to Paris Saint Germain last week appears to have seen them bring forward plans to make a move.
Liverpool supporters will be desperate for the news to be incorrect.
