Liverpool are set to switch attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
That’s according to a report by website World Football Index, with writer James Nalton claiming that the Chile international has emerged as a serious alternative to RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.
Talk of a deal for the Guinea international has gone cold after the Bundesliga side insisted that they would not let him leave as they prepare to make their Champions League debut this season.
The article claims that sources close to Vidal in his homeland have informed them that Liverpool have expressed an interest in taking the thirty year old to Anfield this month.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has seen England international Adam Lallana ruled out for the next couple of months and speculation is still growing that Philippe Coutinho could leave for Barcelona.
That all would leave the German boss short in the midfield department and so a bid to try and bring Vidal to the club would make sense, despite it likely to be a difficult one to get over the line.
Vidal joined Bayern from Juventus back in 2015 following a successful spell with the Italian club.
