Barcelona will offer midfielder Rafinha in a part-exchange deal for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who are claiming that the Spanish giants believe that the opportunity to sign the twenty-four year old Brazilian could help ease through a deal.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Rafinha before, but a bid has not been made and he has remained a peripheral figure in the Barcelona squad.
Rafinha made twenty La Liga appearances for Barcelona last season, with fourteen of them being starts. But he has struggled to make a real impact at the Camp Nou.
And that should make his inclusion in any deal slightly less likely given that he is not a direct replacement for Coutinho and is more a player in the mould of Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Brazilian would offer versatility, but there would be serious question marks over whether he could hold down a regular spot in Klopp’s Liverpool side.
He is good at maintaining possession, however, and scored six goals in his limited appearances last season.
