RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita could hand in a transfer request to push through a move to Anfield.
That’s the view of Andy Hunter, a journalist for The Guardian, who writes that the Guinea international could have to force the issue in order to complete a switch.
“Leipzig’s stance leaves Keïta with limited options if he is to secure his wish of a move to Liverpool.” he said.
“One would be to test his employers’ resolve by submitting a transfer request.
“That could materialise on Thursday when the player is due back in pre-season training.” he finished.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the box-to-box midfielder to the club and it is looking increasingly likely that he will need to smash the club’s transfer record to do so.
Leipzig are not a poor club and have no need, or desire, to sell one of their star players this Summer – especially when they’re preparing to make their Champions League debut.
But Keita is said to be very keen on joining Liverpool and may well hand in a transfer request to help get a transfer done.
