Inter Milan are set to make a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
That’s according to Italian outlet La Repubblica, who are reporting that the Serie A club have drawn up a shortlist of three midfielders and are eager to land one of them.
Keita’s name is on that list, they claim, along with AS Roma’s Belgian international Radja Nainggolan and Bayern Munich’s Chilean Arturo Vidal.
Inter are said to have set aside around £70m to get one of these players into manager Luciano Spalletti’s squad ahead of the 2017/18 season.
A move for Keita seems optimistic given how determined the Bundesliga club are to keep hold of their star players this Summer.
The Guinea international is also believed to be very keen on playing Champions League football next season – which is something he can do if he stays in Germany or moves to Anfield, but not if he joins the Nerazzuri this Summer.
Inter finished outside the Champions League qualification places in Serie A last season and are hoping that their financial clout can draw top calibre players to the San Siro in order to get back to Europe’s top table.
Keita is said to have informed Leipzig that he would like to move on and sign for Liverpool, but a deal looks far from certain to go ahead.
