Middlesbrough are set to sign Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on loan.
The England under-20 international looks on course to sign for the Championship club following promising talks over a season-long loan move for the youngster.
Newcastle United have also been in negotiations with Liverpool over a deal to sign the twenty year old, but have so far been unable to agree terms over a transfer.
It is believed that the newly-promoted Premier League club want to sign Ojo on a permanent deal and have even offered to include a buy-back clause in the terms of the transfer.
But the Reds are not looking to let Ojo move on in a permanent deal this Summer and are only looking to let him go on loan in order to gain more first-team experience.
Newly appointed Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk has indicated that he is prepared to make Ojo a regular in his side in the coming season and that looks to have been enough to move into pole position.
Ojo is unlikely to get much game time at Anfield, even with the likelihood of plenty more games on the calendar next season, so a temporary switch looks to make sense.
