Liverpool defender Joe Gomez looks set to join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan.

Reports today claim that the twenty year old is likely to join the Premier League new-boys for the 2017/18 season to allow him the chance to play regular football.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton has reportedly told Jurgen Klopp that he will make Gomez one of his regular defenders in his side next season as the Seagulls make their Premier League debut.

Gomez arrived at Anfield two years ago in a deal from Charlton Athletic and began the season as first-choice left-back under then manager Brendan Rodgers.

But he suffered a cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for over a year, meaning that he wasn’t available when Klopp took over from Rodgers in October 2015.

The German manager gave Gomez chances in the domestic cup competitions last season while he also featured regularly for the under-23 side as well.

Many fans were hoping that he would be given chances to show what he can this season after a full preseason, but it now looks like he will be sent out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.

    1. Letting Gomez go on loan could be a mistake I believe he will be a successful left back for us! If he goes on loan & we fail to sign sessegnon he would be ideal to back up whoever we get or milner if need be! We have so many matches we couldn’t keep up last season without champions league so we need back up in every area & Gomez will fit that role perfectly he’s versatile aswell, out of all our youngsters it’s him I think will eventually become a Enfield regular! Yes he needs game time but klopp needs to be aware we haven’t got a full back yet!
