Watford are leading the race to sign Liverpool outcast Lazar Markovic.
That’s according to a report by The Telegraph in which it is claimed that the new Hornets manager, Marco Silva, is looking to sign the winger.
Markovic spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City, who were managed by Silva at the time, before returning to Anfield.
The Tigers were relegated from the Premier League back down to the Championship and Silva decided to make a switch to Vicarage Road.
And he is now reported to be looking to engineer a move that will see Markovic follow him down south this Summer.
The Serbia international is surplus to requirements at Anfield and will be allowed to make a permanent exit this Summer.
Watford aren’t the only club looking to snap him up though, with Russian club Zenit St Petersburg also monitoring his situation and several Portuguese and Italian clubs are said to be keen.
