Liverpool are set to rival Chelsea in the race to sign Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.
That’s according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who are reporting that the two Premier League clubs have each approached his club with a view to bringing him to England.
The twenty-year old has previously been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League, but the talk had cooled in recent months before this news emerged.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reported to be in the market for a new midfielder and the Portugal international would fit the bill in terms of his age and potential for both the German and FSG.
But champions Chelsea have also made it known to Porto that they would like to complete a transfer for the youngster to leave them and head for England.
Porto are set to place a £30m pricetag on his shoulders as they look to bring in a large transfer fee for one of their most prized assets.
Manchester United and Arsenal have each been linked with moves for Neves in the past, but it looks like they’ve both switched their sights elsewhere.
